Question for my followers and fellow roleplayers on here: Have you all ever thought of doing an evil or just alternate "skin" for your characters?
Like you collect a different transmog for them and make a unique trp to match? Just to change things up a bit.
Like I was thinking of making a dark shaman. But then I thought, why not just collect a secondary aesthetic for my existing shaman?
Like doing a heel turn in wrestling!
I seriously want to hear what you think! Am I alone in this or??

This is a nerdy, wordy, Warcraft post. You have been warned.
Been playing so much World of Warcraft lately. And not really on my main character, Bia the Forsaken Rogue. I haven't been able to consistently raid with a set group/my guild for the last decade, thanks to work schedules. That really bums me out because I live for end game group content. But the Looking For Raid addition a few expansions ago was such a godsend for me. I have kept up with end game content and lore that way and am currently up to date on killing raid bosses that are available on LFR. Taliesin Jaffe voices the last boss of the current raid tier, Scalecommander Sarkareth, so killing him always makes me sad.
Though I did switch her from mainly being assassination to subtlety and now I am higher on the damage meters, which is nice. Though assassination is my favorite, subtlety has a nice flow to it, too. I mean, my very first spec was a blend of the two, back when that was possible. A stun lock PvP build that I used for leveling and even raiding until I was bullied into going assassination/combat daggers because my DPS was abysmal. Combat spec doesn't even exist anymore. It's outlaw now, with a swashbuckling pirate feel to it. Which is cool, but I just can't get the hang of it whenever I try.
On my main server, WildHammer:
- Got my Forsaken Priest, Material, to max level, which was kind of painful at times with being so squishy, but she has a lot of "oh shit I'm dying" buttons, which helps. She mainly plays shadow at the moment, though I have healed as holy in the past in group settings. Quicker queue times.
- Working on leveling my Blood Elf Mage, Biatryce, through Dragonflight. She's leveling as frost because I tend not to die as much with all the slows frost has.
- Just dinged 60 on my Forsaken Warlock, Calianna, so she's ready for Dragonflight, too. Warlocks level so stupidly fast, too. I spec as affliction and it's just so much fun!
- Not sure who I'll work on after that. I have a couple level 50s (my Blood Elf Paladin, Alovaran, my Night Elf Druid, Shyael,) and my Dracthyr Evoker, Ashalan, is 60. Or I could work on getting some of my lower level toons higher. We'll see.
On my secondary server, Moon Guard:
- Got my Void Elf Mage, Alovalaria, to max level.
- Started a Void Elf (shadow) Priest, Matriel, because I really like that race/class combo. Just really leaning hard into the void.
- Might level my Vulpera Shaman, Runee, to max. She's level 60 at the moment.
- Might start to work on my Human Rogue, Biatryce, again now that I don't have Shadowlands looming over me.
- Might try my hand at RP, given that this is an RP server. And a heavily populated on the Alliance side one at that.
- But this server very much reminds me of Eric and my heart is still broken and in pain over all that.
Here's pictures of my characters, minus their weapon enchant appearances because the WoW armory doesn't like to show them. I am pretty proud of my transmogs. They're nothing fancy, but I enjoy them. I have several on some characters, too. Like Angel Matriel for when she's a holy Priest. I also enjoy hearing Matthew Mercer every so often when playing my mages, thanks to Aluneth, which is why both my mages have it in their transmog. 💜
Here's my dracthyr! 😁
I pre-farmed this transmog set, it's the Regalia of the Firebird (Normal Lookalike) of the Tier 14 Shaman set from Mist of Pandaria raids. I've added link to the transmog pieces from WoWhead because I know mail transmog is a pain. 💙
This is the normal raid colour, raid finder is green, and heroic is red, all of them look really good, so I hope to see more people wearing them as transmog. 😀

I think the problem I've been having with XIV is lack of overworld and solo content and being able to just relax.
Rotations for most jobs have gotten very involved over the years with the exception of like, the SMN rework and maybe DNC. I say this as someone who played and still plays Enh Shaman which is a spec with chronic button bloat. Most of our buttons are utility and burst, not weaving and rotation. It's to a point where on brain fog days, I don't feel comfortable playing at high levels.
XIV has virtually no solo content that isn't grinding or heavily involved (like deep dungeon solos). With WoW I can fly around collecting treasures and vignette mobs, but XIV once you're done the sightseeing log it's pretty much just gathering. WoW I can pop into old dungeons for cool Transmog, mounts, and pets, XIV has a lack of casually solo farmable content with appealing rewards.
I hope some changes are made to both these things. I don't want XIV to become WoW- they're two entirely different games, but as someone who has "retired" from any sort of heavily involved gaming and likes to just kind of exist in these worlds and do my own thing I would like more variety in things to do.
My brother loved playing World of Warcraft, and now I have an intense urge to install the game again and play an Orc Enhancement-spec Shaman with fist weapon transmogs...
